What are essential oils?

Essential Oils are plant extracts. They're made by steaming or pressing various parts of a plant (flowers, bark, leaves or fruit) to capture the compounds that produce fragrance. It can take several pounds of a plant to produce a single bottle of essential oil. In addition to creating scent, essential oils perform other functions in plants, too.

What is aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is a practice of using essential oils for therapeutic benefit. Aromatherapy has been used for centuries. When inhaled, the scent molecules in essentials oils travel from the olfactory nerves directly to the brain and especially impact the amygdala, the emotional center of the brain.

Essential oils can also be absorbed by the skin. Essential oils can be added into your massage to help relax tight muscles.

What is hot stone massage?

Hot stone massage is a type of massage therapy that involves the use of smooth, heated stones,  Massage therapist places the hot stones on specific points on your body and also hold the stones while giving the massage. The localized heat and weight of the stones warm and relax muscles, allowing the massage therapist to apply deeper pressure to those areas without causing discomfort.

Which hot stones I use?

Basalt stones are the main type of stone used and are a form of volcanic rock that is phenomenal at retaining heat for long periods of time. I use a mixture of basalt and jade stones. Jade stones also retains heat for long periods of time and also Jade is an ancient, protective stone known for having healing properties which relax the nervous system and aid in the removal of toxins. Not only does it strengthen the body’s natural defenses, it slows the aging process as well.  The temperature of the stones bring deep relaxation, produce vitality, release toxins, and reduce inflammation.  The soothing green color of Jade also helps the body to self-heal. Jade is considered the health, wealth and longevity stone.
